Wallpaper Vallée des Peintres custom made ISIDORE LEROY

Based on a historical work by the Isidore Leroy brand, Vallée des Peintres is a meticulous restoration work of the archive created in 1930.

In partnership with the Bibliothèque Forney in Paris, which carefully preserved it, we have, as part of this project, adapted and enriched this emblematic drawing made in tempera in 18 colors.

This new promenade takes up the initial connection of the landscape which extends to the water's edge, in a soft and mysterious atmosphere.

Francesco Battista, painter, created this panoramic fresco respecting the technique of the flat tints of the original wallpaper. It is a true demonstration of know-how, which integrates a wealth of textures made possible by contemporary reproduction techniques.

The name, Vallée des Peintres, is borrowed from this iconic region between Berry and Limousin, which inspired so many landscape painters in the 19th century.

This project is part of an ambitious research and restoration process, aimed at rediscovering, through the re-edition of the brand's historical treasures, key periods of French wall decoration, from the beginning of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century.
